Six of the Seven Brothers Stripped of Their Winter Underwear in a Trade for Breakfast!
So many of you have emailed me over the years mentioning one of your favorite Union Suit movies, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Well, it was and is one of my all time favorites as well. This 1954 MGM musical is a true classic. I don't remember the first time I saw this film, but it was well after it's debut in 1954. The music and dancing was incredible. And of course, the story line was a real hit. Here are a few scenes of the six of the brothers waking up one morning to the smell of fresh coffee only to find that their older brother's new wife had taken their filthy clothes to wash in the middle of the night. They had nothing left to wear but their union suits; most of them, not even their socks. But not for long....
"It's cold in here, where'r my clothes?! Whad you do with my pants?!
Can't find 'em anywhere"
Hearing knocking on the bedroom door, they soon discovered that if they wanted a home cooked breakfast, they would first have to give up their "winter underwear."
Hun, uh, no way were they goin' give up their underwear and hand them over to a woman they hardly knew, no sir-ee! Alright then, she told the boys she would just have to come in and take them herself!
Keep her out, boys!
Well, those eggs and bacon and coffee was smelling awfully good and the boys were mighty hungry.
Maybe it was worth giving up their winter underwear for a delicious breakfast!
Now just "how do I get out of this dern underwear," Gideon, the youngest brother wanted to know.
He had been wearing his union suit so long he didn't know how the darn things worked!
Thanks to MGM for a great memory. Be sure to rent, buy or stream
this entertaining picture, a surefire hit!
