What movie does this poster represent? Name the actor and the character he portrayed. Bonus: name the actress(es) featured in this film. 1970's Dirty Dingus McGee, played by Frank Sinatra. Actresses featured included Anne Jackson, Lois Nettleton, Michele Carey. Sinatra spent much of the movie cavorting in his long red union suit, even sharing a bed (mistakenly) with George Kennedy!
In which movie (and version) were these guys featured and later three stripped to their union suits?
Bonus: name the four actors and their characters.
Ghost Busters II (1989)
Bill Murray (Peter Venkman, dressed)
Men in Union Suits (l to r):
Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore in red underwear),
Dan Aykroyd (Raymond Stantz), Harold Ranis (Egon Spengler)
These kids appeared in their underwear, why? And, in which movie did they appear: They were getting ready to take their baths in Mary Poppins Remake
Who is this actor (Hint: he is a "python")? In which movie was he reduced to his union suit
holding a soccer ball ("football" in Great Britain)?
Bonus: Why was he wearing an English Bobby's hat and boots?
My pal, Lee, emails to tell us, the man below is John Cleese who plays Benny Hill (Monty Python). This shot was taken from a 1990's HBO show in which Cleese did a show about guys in their long Johns. Thanks, Lee.
If anyone knows or can find the special on HBO,
let me know... Chris
In what movie are these scenes taken? (Hint: these also appeared in a Toyota commercial a couple years back). Bonus: who's the boy in his union suit? ???

In coming days, I will feature postings with more fun facts of the above TV and Movie union suit features... Chris
Chris the only one I know is the last one. The “kid” is Johnnie Crawford. He played Mark McCain in The Rifleman. Chuck Conners played his father Lucas.
ReplyDeleteYou're right on, Buckeye!
DeleteSam from upper lower Michigan
ReplyDeletesecond picture down "Ghost Busters": Bill murray, Dan aykroyd, William Atherton and Ernie Hudson
No i have never watched this movie.
GhostBusters II, in fact. Murray kept his clothes on. The other three stripped off their "buster" uniforms down to their union suits after being slimed. Good to hear from you, Sam.... Chris
DeleteNow, how about the rest of you? .... Chris
ReplyDeleteThe poster (#1) is from a Frank Sinatra movie, Dirty Dingus McGee. The next two are from GHOSTBUSTERS II. The last is The Rifelman's son but the others are a real stumper. I think (note, "THINK") the one of the man in the red union suit and wearing a Stetson certainly looks like Buddy Ebsen (no stranger to a union suit) but for the life of me, I don't know who the other actor is/ the name of the movie.
ReplyDeleteI also thought the guy in the red union suit and Stetson was Buddy Ebsen and the other guy with him looks very familiar but I can’t think of his name.
Deletesam from upper lower Michigan, that is Buddy Ebsen in the "Mail Order Bride" 1964. That is another movie I have never seen. Keir Dellea I would guess is the other man in picture.
DeleteYou almost got it, Sam. The other, younger guy was Keir Dullea.
DeleteGood job, Macheath. I'll have more answers soon, but there are a couple that I included in which I have no idea as to who they are. So, was hoping you and others could nail down these entries The Monty Pylon man and the boy in his union suit on horseback and family. Keep searching.. Chris
DeleteThe Cartoon Character in the tree and escaping the alligator in his union suit is from a cartoon I watched as a boy in the 1960's: his name was Ziggy or something like that and was a sidekick of Dick Dastardly in the Saturday morning show, "Dastardly and Muttley." He was a nervous pilot and was always ditching his flight suit and boots by jumping out or sneaking off in his long underwear...Rob / St. Joe Missouri
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the kids in their underwear with the little boy in his short sleeve union suit if from the relatively recent Mary Poppins remake... Andrea (Duluth, MN)
