Painted Into A Corner!
Carl Nagle (starring Owen Wilson with a different look) is a local successful Vermont PBS artist whose show is watched by hundreds. That is until the station hires a younger, more attractive female star who soon takes over, leaving the highly acclaimed artist without much of an audience or a job! That's pretty much the plot of the 2023 film, Paint, wiritten and directed by Brit McAdams and produced by Blue Creek Pictures and White Birch Film.
The beautifully scenic paintings he created on tv were either sold to the adoring public or hung in his art studio, a remodeled Vermont barn located on a picturesque country highway.

He spent considerable time in his studio in his underwear admiring genius:
Relaxing one night, wearing a robe over his favorite underwear, a union suit, Carl enjoyed a smoke.
The telephone unexpectedly rings. Who could that be calling so late at night?!
The popular local tv personality would soon find out.
Puzzled, he answers. It is not good news. Soon after, he wished he hadn't answered. Eventually he would learn that he would be unemployed.
His life began to unravel after days of speaking with his boss to maintain his position on tv,
and attempting to figure out why he became unpoular.
At length, Carl returned to his studio, slowly walking up to the wall
holding his past paintings:
And as he stood there, he became unhinged and as so
grabbed a can of paint and angrily turned on his wall of paintings, not to admire...
but to destroy...
...by continually, striking out in blind anger!
Check out this unusually interesting film to see all that comes next. Find it streaming on a couple of formats, from your local library, or on DVD, of course.
