  1. I think I did see this, but I can't remember anything about it.
One comment I will note: that drop seat looks like it would be hard to let drop with four buttons halfway up the back- especially in an "emergency" situation. I've had a three button drop seat with buttons down by my hips, and even that could be annoying to fumble with. I get why they mostly went to the vertical one button seat.

  2. That drop seat must have been included for comical effect because I agree.....very difficult to use in an outhouse.
This is a stumper. How about a hint or two? ...Kyle (Olympia, WA)

  5. Buddy Epsen is correct in the Mail Order Bride movie. He played a man named Will Lane. That movie was seen in theaters in 1964. I was a young boy but remembering laughing with the others in the theater when Buddy went in and came out of that outhouse in his long red underwear. Memorable scenes but I had to look up the release date. ....Max (Topeka)

  6. Buddy Epsen was Jed Clampett in The Beverly Hillbillies back in the 1960's but I don't recall him in a union suit in that TV show. In one rerun, I remember Jethro was suppose to be watching grannie who suppose to stay in her room. She talked him in to removing the rope he held up his pants with to secure her with so she wouldn't run away. After doing so, his pants fell to his ankles revealing the white union suit he was wearing. He fell down and struggled around trying to free himself from his pants while Grannie ran out the door leaving Jethro in his long underwear....Charlie, Lincoln, NE
